I appreciate a lot of Miike's work so I guess I'm a big fan. He's extremely prolific and his movies push the edge in horror and graphics.

brilliant, miike is one of the best film makers there is. he is also very hands on with his films and cast; the special features of his films are always worth watching, to see him immerse himself into the entire process.

I think the thing that speaks loudest about his ability as a director is that most of his films (8/10) stay with you. Even if you write them off, they come back and change your perception through an image or a quote, sometimes dozens of different ways in a given film. Movies like Izo, Visitor Q and Audition have changed from movies I was prepared to forget about, to movies I'd be ready to call essential modern philosophical texts. If nothing else he knows what he's doing.

Takashi is impressive if only for the sole reason that 20 years in and with over 70 films directed, he is still able to shock his the audience, new and long devoted alike.

Going through Miike's filmography so far has been a both tiring and rewarding process. While not all hit the way I want them too, a good amount do and it's wonderful.

"Full Metal gokudô" is unbelievably poetic. The scenes by the sea make me shudder just by thinking of them. A unique frankensteinian solitude takes over for several minutes.

greetings mr. miike... i'm one of the fans of your movies..your movies are really my genre of films..back to the topic,i'm in love with the your way of taking the crows manga to the next level..i found the film a better version then the manga...since then,i've been imagining bout how crows zero 3 will be and it leads to... a new plot that i've made for crows zero 3..if u may, take a look at this blog.. - dizisspartans.blogspot.com...i am aware of u being a busy man and i'm sure even juz a single click on a link would cause much of your precious time..but i'm confident that the plot will redeem the precious time...u don't have to use it in your movie if you don't like it but at least, take a look at it..i'm juz a kid trying to visualize my imagination..and your one or two words will really be something for me.. Thanks for your kindness Mr. Miike..

46 okunen no koi is my favourite film of all time - blows everything I've ever seen into oblivion. I love the quote on this page b/c it so happens that this particular film felt like it was made specifically for me - pure chance. I have a weak stomach, so I watch his films with great care. Would love to see IZO on here soon in order to rate it as badass.

I can't say that I am a fan of any of his films, but I continue to make it a point to see them. Miike has my respect for doing whatever he damn well pleases -- tossing the rule book down the toilet, taking a dump on it, setting it on fire then blasting it to smithereens. He works fast and loose. The kind of creativity that is borne out of such liberation is sometimes flawed or offensive but always fascinating.
