Biography

Born in 1956 in Salé (Morocco).

After uncompleted film studies in Italy, Ahmed Boulane, director of Boulane O’Byrne Production, started his artistic career in the 1970s as an actor for Moroccan theater and TV. In the beginning of the 1980s he began working as an assistant director, which then led him to become a well-known casting director and actor in more than 25 international films. He is currently participating in the renaissance of Moroccan national filmmaking, and has earned critical acclaim, nationally and internationally, for his last two projects, Voyage dans le passe (SF, 1997) and Ali, Rabiaa and the others (FF, 2000).
