Rajko Grlić

Rajko Grlić (born 2 September 1947, Zagreb, SR Croatia, FPR Yugoslavia) is Yugoslav film director and producer from Croatia of Jewish and Serbian decent. He is an “Eminent Scholar in Film” at Ohio University, Athens, USA and artistic director of the Motovun Film Festival, Motovun, Croatia.

Rajko’s family by father Danko’s side came to Zagreb from Banat, Serbia in the 17th century, while his mother Eva is from Jewish family of Sarajevo. His military duty he did in Belgrade. During civil war in ex Yugoslavia he moved to the USA.

Rajko Grlić was born in 1947 in Zagreb, SR Croatia, FPR Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) at the same time as Emir Kusturica, also a well known former-Yugoslavian film director. His father was Danko Grlić, famous Yugoslav philosopher. —Wikipedia
