I started with The American Soldier, which was perplexing, yet fascinating enough to press on, although my favorite remains Chinese Roulette. Personally, I believe that film is the most blatant showcase of Fassbinder's allure.

I don't think abant-guard type movie archive only made by director like Keneath Anger. In conclusion, I have some affection to Fassbinder.

More Kurt Raab would be nice - Herr R, Satan's Brew, etc... Also, 'Rio das Mortes' is a forgotten classic, i think... QUITE underrated...

Where are the early films? Love is Colder than Death & the American Soldier especially, these are probably my two favorite Fassbinders!

1989 I gave my little dog the name Fassbinder. By then, my inspiration for the moment was the famous theater play, in english it must be something like Garbarge, City and Death ( danish Byen, Affaldet og Døden, and in Swedish Soporna, staden och döden ) They played it in Malmö 1989.
