Cristián Jiménez

Valdivia (Chile), 1975. Prior to becoming a moviemaker, he wrote short stories and studied Sociology in Santiago de Chile, Heidelberg and London. He has written and directed several shorts, including El tesoro de los caracoles and XX, winners of awards at festivals in Chile, Germany, France and the USA. He also co-wrote the features 199 recetas para ser feliz and Los debutantes, and worked as a TV producer in the UK. Ilusiones ópticas, his first feature, was selected for Films in Progress 13 (Toulouse 2008) and 14 (San Sebastian 2008). —San Sebastian International Film Festival
