I consider him the finest director (as well as Scorsese), he made my favourite film 'Once Upon a Time in America', but one thing bother me about him, why so much rape? I wish he made more
The man was a genius. After seeing Once Upon a Time In America for the first time tonight, I can now clearly see that his immense talent went far beyond the western genre (although my favorite film by him is still The Good, the Bad and the Ugly). Wish he made more movies....
One of my favorite directors of all time. He really loved cinema. “When I was young, I believed in three things: Marxism, the redemptive power of cinema, and dynamite. Now I just believe in dynamite.”
Wondefrul filmmaker and storyteller... it's truly amazing how his few films evolved from old Italian spaghetti westerns, to a beautifully told epic western, to his childhood-dream story of America.
Might be my favourite director. Definitely my favourite director in a technical sense.
Duck, You Sucker (also known as A Fistful of Dynamite) is absolutely my favorite as well.
The Auteurs only has three films of the God of Italian Cinema? For a Few Dollars More A Fistful of Dollars Duck, You Sucker! My Name is Nobody Where?
Sergio Leone was my introduction to my favourite genre- the western. Thank you for sharing your love of the western with me.
Now - please, add "Il Colosso di Rodi", "Per qualche dollaro in Più", "Per un Pugno di Dollari", "Giù la Testa" and you're done !!!
