this man was a genius. though not the kind of genius we proclaim when thinking of welles, or murnau, or sternberg, the truth is billy wilder made ten or fifteen absolute masterpieces - can such a man not be a genius???
Wilder made one of my favorite quotes of all time. Before he got the chance to direct his own scripts, he was known to get upset at how directors were handling the screenplays he had written. When asked "Do you expect a director to know how to write?" he responded, "No, but I do expect him to know how to read!"
la imperdonable falta de bésame, imbécil ha sido subsanada, muy bien. y dónde coños está el maravilloso documental portrait of a '60 % perfect man' (annie tresgot & michel ciment, 1980)!!! los autores venidos a menos con este "mubi" parecen lentos cual tortugas; shame on it!
Five Graves To Cairo is missing. Plus I want to add Fedora to my want to watch list!
