Damian Calvo is the Writer, Director, DP, and Editor of Independently Blue, a feature length dramatic narrative. Raised in Queens, New York, Calvo attended the School of Visual Arts where he studied film production. He was given the opportunity to work in the editing rooms of major motion pictures produced by Imagine Entertainment and Universal Pictures. With the advent of digital filmmaking he focused on directing his own works as well as photographing other independents. He photographed and edited The Devil in 16 mm a post apocalyptic version of the Guy de Maupassant story. The Devil was an official selection of the Chicago Underground Film Festival. He directed a documentary The Clementine that follows the journey of a Spanish Clementine from Spain to the US. He also directed the short film Blow Away based on Hemingway’s story “The Three Day Blow.” Blow Away won the audience award at the legendary Pioneer Theatre in the East Village.
