The Stunner

philosopher? why?
I think about this man's work on a daily basis. He is easily my favorite director, but I don't think I could have come to this conclusion if I hadn't seen many other films first.
Kieślowski's films remind me of the plays of Henrik Ibsen in their naturalness and ease with symbolism, and I would say that Kieślowski is even better at it.
There is something about Kieslowski's cinema that turn every typical and normal situation -Factory, Railway Station, Hospital- in sadness and solitude. In a strange way, I feel complete watching it.
So damn underrated it's a tragedy a good lot of people don't and will not ever watch his films.
I started watching Kieslowski last year. I don't know why I waited so long. He was wonderful.
From a Night Porter's Point of View, Hospital, First Love ... this stuff is Kieslowski's favorite own film.
Greetings to all! Just wondering if Criterion has any plans of releasing the 'Three Colors' trilogy ... preferably in Blu-Ray.
Camera Buff (1979) Kieslowski was bitter at the end of his life because he got no recognition early on. He may have been bitter, but I doubt he had any regrets. Camera Buff is a brilliant film.
Kieslowski captures reality in a way that the intangible is made clear before our eyes. His style is to be profoundly admired.
