His films are not only arrestingly beautiful but also told so compellingly. Every single Zhang Yimou film I've ever seen had my FULL, UTMOST, UNDIVIDED attention. I have short attention span, so this is a big deal for me. Zhang Yimou films and I were made for each other.

He is the one why I love Asian films (eventhough he is not my first Asian director exposure)... Almost all of his films touches my heart and shocked me... He and his film are so amazing and humanistic. All of his films are political and are relevant and most importantly some of it are family oriented..
