Slick, sharp, daring, provocative, thought provoking, stylish, genius, flavoursome, unique, delightful, admirable, lovable, soul searching, elegant, seductive, sexual, memorising, manipulative, playful, ageless, modern, perceptive, relevant... These are just a few words that come to mind when thinking of Wong Kar-Wai.

I love almost all of his films. The story can sometimes warble, like in Fallen Angels and Chungking Express, but even then it feels playful and freeing.

Just recently becoming reacquainted with his work after not watching any of his films for like 15 years. Faves in order: ASHES OF TIME, CHUNGKING EXPRESS, FALLEN ANGELS, IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, HAPPY TOGETHER and AS TEARS GO BY. Haven't seen DAYS OF BEING WILD since the mid-90s and I've never seen 2046. I will have to be talked into seeing his English language film MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS.
