The way I feel about Milos Forman is the same way I feel about Peter Weir. They both made original and wonderful films in the beginning of their careers, but when they started working in Hollywood, all the originality and freshness of those early films, vanished, just like that. Granted, I like "Cuckoos nest" and "Taking off". -But all the films he made after those two, are devoid of all the charm and beauty that made Loves of a Blonde, The fireman's Ball, Black Peter and Konkurs, so special.
I'd like to see Man On The Moon placed on The Auteurs. Excellent, excellent, excellent.
He is just a genius... Only, watch "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", it is enough to think about this way... Also Hair and Amadeus are the bonus i think.
Just saw Goya's Ghosts. It's like a sassy telenovela. Maybe it's not a career high point for Forman or Carriere but it makes for bona fide entertainment.
