Jody Lee Lipes’ first feature length screenplay, the period drama Confederacy, was selected for the 2011 Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Past projects include: NY Export: Opus Jazz, a scripted adaptation of a Jerome Robbins’ ballet that won an Audience Award at SxSW 2010 and aired on PBS; and the verite documentary Brock Enright: Good Times Will Never Be The Same, which follows an emerging artist creating a solo show at a prominent gallery in New York City.
In addition to writing and directing his own films, Jody was named one of Variety’s 10 Cinematographers To Watch 2011. DP credits include: Martha Marcy May Marlene, Tiny Furniture, Afterschool, Two Gates of Sleep, and Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell.
Jody recently completed shooting and directing episodes of the first season of HBO’s Girls, and is currently prepping for Lance Edmands’ first feature Bluebird. —IMdb
