You just know that you come to the theatre to see her and you won’t be disappointed by her amazing performance. Sadness and happiness, you feel it in her.
She was melodramatic and over the top in "A Single Man" too- ( terrible performance)
She's done some stunning work over the past two decades. Love her in Far From Heaven, The Hours, Short Cuts, Vanya on 42nd Street, The End of the Affair, and also some of her more bafflingly underrated roles like Blindness. Very funny in The Big Lebowski too. Her brilliant Carol White in Safe, though, is one of those rare film performances that make me go "How did she do that?" Looking forward to seeing her in The Kids are All Right later this year!
A brilliant actress, whom i admire for taking risks. And yes, where is 'The End Of The Affair'?
