Born on June 21, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, Lana Wachowski grew up as Laurence Wachowski with younger brother Andy. The two entered filmmaking as screenwriters and directed 1996’s film Bound before going on to helm the groundbreaking Matrix films. Hello Mubi; could this biography please be updated to: - use female pronouns - refer to the filmmaker siblings as 'The Wachowskis' (they have not been referred to as 'The Wachowski Brothers' for many years) - remove 'fraternal' and any other exclusively male terms - confirm the gender reassignment as Lana made her public debut as a woman in July 2012.
