people hate her because she got it all quite easily (money, looks,Oscar), but I think she's great and that she has much more to offer than she had a chance to. But, it is her choice to be lifestyle guru/full time mother/fashion brands promoter/cookbook auteur celebrity. Hopefully she''ll get bored of that and return to acting better than ever.
Like others, I find her public persona very grating - in interviews, via her lifestyle website or her child-naming skills. And I haven't been drawn to most of her major films.... But she's given a few truly interesting or vulnerable performances (Hard Eight, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Two Lovers) that I can't help but be overruled into clicking that "Become a Fan" link on her page here, since I suppose we're not grading an actor's personal life here. Also, her final scene in Seven (though only implied) was pretty powerful too.
Too bad "the danish girl" fell through, but she has a Soderbergh-film lined up, hopefully it'll be good.
I'm so happy that she is starring in The Danish Girl with Nicole Kidman and will be directed by the most exciting filmmaker in the world right now, Tomas Alfredson. She's a wonderful actress, she's proven that time and time again- But she's very hated, first she was unpopular because she said some things inteviews, and people started hating her because of her upperclass new york upbringing- but somewhere along the way, people started critizing her acting skills as well, which I think is totally unfounded. I hope that The Danish Girl will help change people's perception of her, so that she, once again, will be thought of as a great actress.
