“...in America, instead of making the audience come to the film, the idea seems to be for you to go to the audience. They come up with the demographics for the film and then the film is made and sold strictly to that audience. Not to say that it's all bad, but it leaves a lot of the rest of us out of it. To me cinema can be a much more friendly world if there's a lot of things to choose from.” BECOME A FAN

He has a interesting worldview. Even when a film of his fails, you can't help but feel that it was made with his heart as well as his mind. His libertarian view is a breath of fresh air in the super liberal/politically correct Hollywood.

What's fascinating about Eastwood's films is how death and loneliness is always peering through the cracks, creeping around the edge of the films. The comedy in Gran Torino and Heartbreak Ridge comes from pain, doom, and age. Eastwood's preoccupation with death simmers below, occasionally surfacing in devastating works like Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven. And as he gets older, the less he can ignore it. Haunting and poignant.

Love him as an actor & director, even if he doesn't star in the movies he makes.

One of the greatest ever, and in no way has he slowed down or become boring. In fact, Eastwood's films are among the most interesting and well-crafted in contemporary cinema.

Eastwood is becoming very predictable. Needs to be a bit braver with his films.

Sudden Impact really needs to be submitted. It certainly isn't the worst Harry film and I thought Eastwood did a great job on it.

Clint Eastwood's page is missing the underrated Escape from Alcatraz by Don Siegel, who also directed The Killers and Dirty Harry.

if your into movies like watching cherie drink marmalade in french subtitles you probably wont like eastwood, if you love westerns or american action films, you cant get much better.

mubi just lost credibility for me for not having escape from alcatraz on here of all movies lol. dull if your over 80 and deaf and watching movies from a special room on thorazine. :p. saying clint eastwoods films are dull being largely an action star is like saying arnold is too fat in conan.

The most overrated living filmmaker. No one has gone further for having made such dull films.
