I had sort of a falling out with Renoir for some time, but now he's back in my life with a force. Goddamn genius...
I am sorry not to see The Crime of M. Lange listed above...a good film, showing all of Renoir wonderful talent for the nuances of human interactions in development, and of historical importance in its use of the middle distance. The visual quality of this film will still knock your socks off, and it is all the more remarkable for having been made by a collective, with Renoir at the helm. Lovely and a piece of film history.
