Velvet Goldmine is simply astounding and better every time I watch it. @AFLWYDD: Agreed. Pigeonholing, however, is how the entertainment industry attempts to market products (films and filmmakers alike). Sadly it ruinous at the mainstream level as anything labeled 'queer' is avoided by people who aren't willing to take a risk, explore, discover. Just read Haynes is 50 now. Happy birthday!
It's a tragedy that idiots try to pigeonhole such an innovative director into stupid groups like 'queer cinema.' Is it possible for a homosexual filmmaker to get anywhere without being tagged with such a silly title?
