I love Mamet's dialogue. Homicide and House Of Games are required viewing.
He is either really fantastic or so heavy handed with his words. it really takes a good actor, or at least a very intense performance from an actor, to deliver one of his scripts meaningfully on screen.
Mamet's severely overlooked film "Homicide" - never released on DVD - is getting the Criterion treatment in September.
Dear friends, I´m in Brazil and I search desperately the email address from DAVID MAMET. I´m a Theater and Cinema Director and I´m trying for months, in vain, to talk to him. Could you please help me in some way? Sincerely yours, Gustavo Paso
Mamet's terrific. His books THE THREE USES OF THE KNIFE and ON DIRECTING FILM are must-reads. However, the Biography used here is sloppily-written, dated and at times inaccurate. I hope that an opportunity comes for it to be replaced.
