Richard Burton once said, "an actor is something less than a man, while an actress is something more than a woman". Brando changed all that.
Brando's performance in A Streetcar Named Desire wasn't simply acting. It started a revolution; a genre of some sort. It was classic, and yet contemporary and new. A performance no one was able to accomplish in the years that followed.
That scene in the car in Elia Kazan's On The Waterfront. What a pleasure! What an actor!
What a dynamic presence! Maybe not the most stable person, but definitely one of the most talented and charismatic of all time. Hmmm... maybe not a coincidence?!
