Silent classic is one of Keaton's best
100 years from now, there is one filmmaker that I can confidently say will still be recognized as a genius. That man is Buster Keaton.
Can justifiably said to have the most perfect face that the human race has ever produced.
Truly intuitive and highly self-aware as a performer, stunt man, director, and visual gag creator. One of the most enjoyable and awe-inspiring screen personas to witness. Not to mention, a total babe.
As soon as I saw The General, I was hooked. The Great Stone Face and Chaplin are among the greats of the silent movie era.
el mas grande de todos los tiempos
Buster Keaton's face is one of the amazing examples of minimal acting ever. Buster Keaton's body is one of the best examples an athlete.
And from Buster Keaton mind comes the funniest gags in the world.
"The Great Stone Face". I have so much love and respect for this man.
I downloaded some of his films on archive.org and most of them have no sound.
He is as fundamental for the history of cinema as Cimabue and Giotto are for the history of painting. Perspective, depth of field and so on...
I have a ridiculous crush on this man.
The first great American director of film comedy, he as much as anyone brought movie comedy into the 20th Century, shaking off the sentimentality that would ultimately choke Chaplin. Keaton will live forever, delighting and stimulating those lucky enough to fall under his spell.
Such a beautiful face indeed. :)
Spite Marriage would be a good addition.
I love all the silent films, but I've just started to get into some of the sound shorts and some are pretty good and some really aren't too great.
The most beautiful physical comedian of all time.
This page needs Our Hospitality and The Navigator!
Our Hospitality should be on here
AND "ONE WEEK"?????????, a MASTERPIECE!!!!
Oh, Buster. I'd be so unhappy without you.
Would like to see "Steamboat Bill Jr." added, plus the short film "The Playhouse," which may be my favorite comedy short of all time.
Admired BK for his special humor, humor that makes me think.
Oh Buster....my one and only man crush....shucks...
