yeah, pretty much my thoughts as well :/
From Platoon to Nixon. I can't think of any other filmmaker that has manged to sustain that level of filmmaking for so long. Sure U-Turn was awful, and his following movies were disappointing (aside from W.), but he directed so many masterpieces, one after the other, that I think he should be allowed to get away with it.
I honestly think Scarface (1983) it's the BEST thing Oliver Stone has ever written. It says so much about America, materialism and capitalism. It really gave birth to the idea of The Epic American Tragedy and most of it is hysterically funny. I still cannot figure it out, the sign of a masterpiece.
