I have been lucky to see him three times at launches of his respective latest film. He is witty, highly intelligent, has the courage to speak his opinion (perhaps to be expected if you know his work) & has a GSOH. He actually is becoming more and more a kind of 'movie Shakespeare' for me. Watch the great "Another Year" and you will see his wisdom, humour & deep understanding of, & empathy for, the human condition.

"A Sense of History" should be added. For all those who haven't seen it, it's a short TV movie (on Youtube atm) written and acted by Jim Broadbent. It's hilarious and wonderful.
