The older I get, the more I think Errol Morris may be my favorite filmmaker. He taught me, above all else, that there's no such thing as fact.
I'd be hard pressed to find a more consistently fascinating American filmmaker than Errol Morris. His films are like scalpels, cutting and pulling back the layers of his subjects one by one. He's also a brilliant writer, and his television series "First Person" is as good as anything made in the last ten years.
