Born on the 21st of June 1933 , Franco Piavoli is an independent director that handles all aspects of filmmaking : direction, editing, production, cinematography. He often shoots his films at his home in the hills of Lake Garda. Among his films are : “The Blue Planet” and “Nostos: The Return”

It has doubled in the past year too lol! In all my years of viewing film, I've never been so baffled as why so few people know about this master. I mean, plenty of people know Frammartino, but Piavoli has been making cinema in that style, at a far superior level for many decades now, yet no one really knows him. Always try to spread the word :) I'm thankful for the day I discovered his films through chance/random browsing.

Piavoli has reopened my eyes to the possibilities of cinema, and for me, he is one of the true masters of cinema, and the most interesting Italian director of all time. A true visual poet, and cinematic painter who has crafted some of the most beautiful pieces of art. His films will live long in my mind for years to come!
