Pegah Ferydoni was born 1983 in Teheran/ Iran. At the age of two, her parents emigrated to Germany and Pegah Ferydoni grew up in Berlin-Reinickendorf.
In 2003 she plays the leading part in the filmlet “Skiing under water”. Next Pegah Ferydoni filmes several German crime series like “Tatort” and “The last witness”. Her big success comes with the ARD soap opera “Turkish for beginners” in 2006, where she playes the devout and self confident Yagmur Öztürk. “Turkish for beginners” is still considered one of Germany´s most acclaimed evening serials and in addition to numerous nominations, it receives the German Televison Award in 2006 and Adolf Grimme Award in 2007 for best series as well as the German Civis Award in 2007 ROCKY AWARD at BANFF World Television Festival 2008 in the Category “Telenovela & Serial Programs”.
2009 Pegah Ferydoni playes in Til Schweiger´s “Rabbit without ears 2” and also in the Disney Adventure “Lilly the witch 2”.

Her international success comes with the directional debut “Women withot men” by the Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat, which wins the Silver Lion for best director at the Venice Film Festival in 2009 and is also priced the Cinema for Peace Award. The German release of “Women without men” is June 17th 2010.
In 2010 one can also see Pegah Ferydoni in the movie “Ayla”, in which she plays the title role Ayla; a turkish girl, who has to fight against her conservative family to live the way she wants to. The dramatic love story “Ayla” by Su Turhan was first screened on the Max-Ophüls-Festival in January 2010.
Additionaly she takes part in the plays “And the Lord created the cow” by Abbas Maroufi and “Black Virgins” by Feridun Zaimoglu at the Theater Ballhaus Naunynstraße in Berlin as well as in the play “Sisters” by Nicole Oder at the Heimathafen Neukölln. —Facebook Biography
