Happy 100th Birthday to Kaneto Shindo. What a remarkable career he's had as both writer and/or director. So many great films on his CV... Children Of Hiroshima, The Naked Island, Manji, Onibaba, Seisaku's Wife, Irezumi, Fighting Elegy and Kuroneko to name but a few. Take a bow, sensei, you deserve it...
