He directed the Clint Eastwood commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. Interesting.

i love watching wannabe snobs take themselves seriously. one of the best places to do that seems to be here. people scared to admit they like a director because he's starting to do popular efforts, scared to be associated with 'the greatest common demoninator', as that guy said. you'll grow up some day, guys.

Or maybe they're actual people with genuine feelings and opinions. DGG used to make pretty damn good movies, and it's easy to see how someone who was a fan of his older work could object to the drastically different directorial efforts he's put out in recent years. Popular has nothing to do with it. He's changed.

What is this guy doing? As of late so many great film makers are just pumping out shite. This and Michel Gondry doing the green hornet have just let me down so much. There's broadening your scope, getting higher production values and then there's just pandering to the greatest common denominator. Bah.

Don't impose your values. If you listen to the guy in interviews, he's approached his last few films with a genuine interest in their genre – regardless of whether they're any good. Plenty of directors bounce around between big studio projects and smaller movies. Green is just doing it with some broader comedies. Not a huge deal.

This guy is amazing, so humble, down to earth and nice. People will always say he sold out or what not but "Your Highness" was one of the first ideas him and McBride ever came up with while still in Film school, before "George Washington". Anyways, he's got some great ideas and it was awesome to meet him and hear him speak. With that said, I've only seen part of Undertow, Pineapple Express, and Your Highness (none of which have blown me away), so it's not like I think he's the greatest filmmaker but he's amazing and is doing what he wants to do and helping other people make it as well.

When is he going to make a movie like the one he made when he was an independent filmmaker?

He should be utterly ashamed of himself. Biggest fall from grace in cinematic history.
