Hourray for Glenda Jackson, great actress and one of the few good, decent and passionate politicians left in morally and economically bankrupt rightwing Britain. Do see her delivering her views recently on Thatcher in the House of Commons, on youtube. Most of her sell-out party are gutless wimps who have sold their souls to the consumerist devil or fear the wrath of Murdoch.

Jackson had that rare ability to disseminate the most tender and raw human emotions through the steeliest of wringers. A rather sad loss to the altogether more prosaic theatrics of the UK Parliament.
