Hey Gus, Long time no see. Really impressed with Milk. For me, with this movie, you expressed a level of open-heartedness and emotional freedom that was unexpectedly deep and true.

Actually, the POST from Bob Edwards is from his wife, your grandfather's niece, Frances VanSant Edwards. She has seen some of your movies, but not all of them. Titanic had only one bad word, but Good Will Hunting had more than enough!. FE

I remember your grandfather although I was quite young when he visited us. He was very ill at the time and did not live much longer after that visit. He was only about 45, I believe, when he died. I am sorry we did not have opportunity to know him better. My mother said he had a gentle personality. I know that he attended Transylvania College and met your grandmother there. I taught the grandson of one of his good friends, but I was not aware of that friendship until later. I once tried to contact you about one of my former students who was interedted in your work, but you did not respond.

I am trying to get ahold of gus van sant. I went to school with him at Catlin Gable and he once said he would put me in a movie. well, gus. maybe the time is now. I ended up coming out right after catlin gable and spending alot of time in experimental theater in new york in the 70's. it's been a looooong ride. i am now a drama therapist group facilitator at the local psyche ward in Bend, Oregon. i remember you ( gus) and eric edwards. we had some conversations back then. i want to be in a film with you as director. maybe the definitive lesbian love story of the 21st century, only i am in my mid 50's now!! peace and blessings. anyone who knows how to reach gus personally, please let me know. peace, hillary hurst

What an honor to be able to thank this amazing artist for his work! An opinion of Van Sant? Thats cold! I dont know the chap, just his work..Ipaint and I write and would feel strange should someone feel they know me by looking at my work! I'm quite eccentric and very few "know" me..love to Van Sant! gerry reed

Just saw Paranoid Park and loved it. Really looking forward to seeing Mild. One of my true favorites is To Die For, he cast Nicole Kidman perfectly.
