Biography

The author of an unsettling work, Velasco Broca (born in Amurrio, in the Basque Country, in 1978) made his debut as a director with Footsie, a multi-awarded short that garnered him recognition in the Spanish underground scene. Having gained momentum, he undertook his second production – Kinky Hoodoo Voodoo –, filmed in 16 mm. This short already introduced some of his main obsessions, i.e., Spanish folklore, extraterrestrials and fetishism.

However, this work would remain unfinished until 2004, as Velasco Broca was to be commissioned with a teenager sexual education video. The outcome – Der Milchshorf – made a lasting impression in the national Spanish TV channel TVE program “Versión Española”, where it was broadcasted in 2002 under the heading of “the most bizarre short ever shown at the program”.
