Biography

Mitra Hajjar (In Persian: میترا حجار) (born February 3, 1977 in Mashhad, Iran) deemed “expressive” and “compelling” by Variety Magazine, is one of the most popular leading actresses in Iran. She has held leading roles in over 20 feature films in her native country.

Hajjar is most noted for her outstanding performances in the films, Motevalede mahe mehr (2001), by Ahmad Reza Darvish, Sagkoshi (2001) by Bahram Beizai, Soorati (2002) by Fereydoun Jeyrani, and most recently It’s Winter (2006) by Rafi Pitts, which was in Competition at the 56th Berlin International Film Festival.

Recently, Hajjar spent some quality time in France, performing in the theater. She shone on stage in Paris, amongst others, a six-month run of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya.

With a solid film career and countless fans back home, Hajjar has currently decided to pursue her acting career in the US. —IMDb
