Born in Zarzis in 1959, Mohamed Zran graduated from the ESEC film school (Etudes Supérieures Cinématographiques) in Paris. He worked as an assistant director on the film “Alger, la blanche” by Cyril Collard. He directed three short films, “Virgule” in 1987, “Le Casseur de Pierre” in 1989 and “Ya Nabil” in 1993. “Essaïda” is his first feature film. —diplomatie.gouv.fr
