I wonder if anybody ever told these actors they were rolling.
The original is always the best!
'Severely damaged' is not overstating it, but I'm happy to get to see it none the less. Stow and Hepworth saved the best for last; that deck of cards was brilliant!
Anyone else on the edge of their seats when the whole deck of cards came running in the end?
A littke piece of history. Very nice silent movie.
Not bad for 1903. I still like the animated Walt Disney version best.
Brilliant heart warming stuff. The first Alice thing I've seen or read - and really got it!
The lack of sound and abridged nature of the movie allows it to be more true to the original novel than any other Alice in Wonderland adaptation I've seen, which tend to either stray mightily from the details or put in some unnecessary social statement. Too bad this print isn't better off, as a lot of the effects are really nice to look at and it's a shame to see them so faded and cut into by rot.
Better than most of the films released nowadays, I like it ;D
The smiles on the wee kiddies' faces in the card army as they chase after Alice at the end are priceless!
it's so beautiful.. I love this kind of vintage movie.
pretty good actually. The film's got some pretty bad damage in some areas though, watchable but hurt my eyes. The special effects aren't quite George Melies but good nontheless.
A nice achievement, almost rivaling that of the Lumière brothers.
Very much like the card costumes.
This is an example of how well silent films portray dreams. For its time, this is still very effective.
Really lovely stuff, made more than 100 years ago!
Good to see how imaginative film makers were in the early days of film.
