Underrated in my opinion. This has a rare poetic quality to it (Carlyle's character receiving his wife's forgiveness through a consequential kiss that turns him into a zombie subsequently completely annihilating the beloved), and a strange dramaturgy which means it's wonderfully unpredictable. I love how one character after another seemingly evolves into the film's main hero, then just dies.
This is such a disappointing sequel. All that effort to get the kids out of England, and then of course they're the source that infects the rest of the world. It turned my stomach.
love the beginning scene, but pretty boring and lackluster under the mass breakout at the end.
Awful edition to an entirely unique world. Boyle gave us something unique, Fresnadillo gave us Starbucks.
The bigger, more action-y Aliens equivalent to Danny Boyle's more thoughtful 28 Days Later… (or Alien, in this metaphor), 28 Weeks is a bloody thrilling, bloody frightening, and bloody…bloody.
From the explosive opening to the cliffhanger ending this is a solid sequel that some might say is better than the original.
Worthy and underrated sequel that, for me, builds on the original concept. As successful to the original as Aliens was to Alien in my view. Admittedly not everyone's cup of tea, as opinion clearly shows and too graphic in its gore for some people too but I really enjoy this film and hope they continue the series.
This is no way better then 28 days later (not that it is a good film) and Cillian Murphy
Just so....meh. If you hate seeing characters doing stupid stuff in horror films, stay far far away. I liked 28 Days Later for the grit provided by the low res video and the just plain dirtier aesthetic, but this just takes the basic concept of 28 Days and turns it into a more or less generic in style, high gloss/gore horror film, which I have no interest in. It doesn't help that the plot is ridiculously predictable.
This is actually much better than 28 Days Later, as there are some interesting issues with family and highlights the really shitty things we do to each other when in extreme situations. There are some well played out scenes too. It has plenty of flaws but I think it hangs together much better than the first film and is better directed. Nice soundtrack too...
I haven't seen the first flick, but I didn't think it was that bad; and a good zombie flick.
