Two fledgling criminals (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson) kidnap pizza delivery guy Nick (Jesse Eisenberg), strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank. As the clock ticks, Nick, with the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari), deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship. –IMDb
Caught this on the movie network, had to be one of the most painfully unfunny movies I've ever seen. Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride are both great but could not save this wreck. The ending was terrible and rushed.
I think this is a funny and lean politically incorrect comedy that benefits a lot from very effective turns by Eisenberg (Completely different from his usual persona and very good at it) and Michael Peña. I like McBride but his usual shenanigans eventually became overkill.
Amiable enough, but it doesn't really follow through on what the ingredients seem to promise. The cast is good, even if Danny McBride is just doing his usual schtick, and it develops some good energy in the second half. But it's very contrived and never really delivers on real big laughs. Watchable, but not all that memorable.
