Maurice Pialat documents the life of a young Parisian (Suzanne) as she explores her own sexuality in hopes of answering questions about the possibility of love. All the while, she must cope with a jealous mother and a pathetic brother, and miss the presence of a father, who is at once oppressive and violent, but also the only one in her life who has shown her love. An underrated gem and one of my favorites in cinema.
