A Short Vision

A strange object appears in the sky at night. Animals are afraid and stop fighting each other, but people are mostly asleep.

Their leaders see it, and recognize it, but their knowledge is fruitless: their flesh melts and their bones disintegrate. The people’s ignorance is no defense, as they suffer the same fate in their sleep.

The whole world is destroyed, and only a small flickering flame remains in the cold emptiness. A moth flutters around the flame. It too is destroyed and the flame dies. —British Film Institute
