i agree, came across it by accident on tv and loved it!
Wow. Just...wow. Do yourself a favor; see this knowing as little about it as possible.
@Julian- thanks for posting your review. I particularly liked this: "What proceeds defies narrative explanation – any attempt to do so would come out as some sort of Dada-influenced poem – but somehow starts making some sort of sense as the animated figures begin to construct their own universe."
Wonderfully bizarre stop-motion feature from Belgium. Surreal humor, visual inventiveness, wit and imagination. Hopefully this one develops the healthy cult following it deserves.
What a charming and inventive cartoon! It's been awhile since I've watched something on a whim and been so pleased with the results.
This child-like romp is a deconstruction of narrative expectations, and totally charming to boot.
Great animation that lacks on creativity and on know-how about storytelling. Firstly they should have thought about if they want a coherent story or not, because the movie stays in the middle and so nowhere. If you want to make chaos you have to pull it all the way. It's a shame, thought it would be a lot more fun.
Sometimes pretty funny, but nowhere near as hilarious as the original shorts.
More inventive in every frame than an entire Avatar: often riotously clever and gut-burstingly bold. Its unapologetic simplicity is relentless, almost a combative anti-animation, but unfortunately doesn't contribute to much more than a series of comedic scenarios, that border on boredom throughout. Which is a risk of such risk-taking, I guess: leaving your clay in lumps can lead to rather draconian formlessness.
