Oh my goodness, you're right. I didn't realise the parents in Home Alone were both in this film. That's incredible.
Hilarious. It's a film of an evil child's pleasures from an innocent point of view. The crew must have had a lot of laugh during making of the sculpture for this misfortunate character who gets imprisoned ceaselessly in the most ridiculous moments.
Pretty well perfect. Haven't been entertained by a story like I was in this film for a very long time.
I'm starting to think I prefer 80s Scorsese to 70s Scorsese as blasphemous as that sounds but think about it: Raging Bull, King of Comedy, Last Temptation of Christ, and After Hours. Those are some of my fave movies of his. This one is really underrated. The script and cinematography are great. Griffin Dunne's great.
I really love this film. The darn thing is even brilliant on tv re-runs...how great is that? Funny to see John Heard and Catherine O'Hara (Macaulay Culkin's Kevin parents in Home Alone) again together on a film. I loved the soundtrack, the camera movements. This is good ol' Scorsese and not that Hugo crap...I feel a voice here. A man. An author. A story. Real characters...feelings. Great film.

That New Yorkish claustrophobia is something I can't relate to but still I could feel it and the Kafkaesque persuasion towards self-immolation was cleverly dealt with proximate comic reliefs. No doubt that this is an engaging entertainer but a slightly more satisfying end might have turned it into a classic.
Hayatımın geri kalanında sadece bir film izlememe izin verilseydi tek atımlık şansımı bu filmden yana kullanırdım.
"What is the very worst night you ever had...?" Not the night when I watched this movie, definitely. It's a bizarre yet fun experience. Love the ending anyway.
So many great flourishes in this film, sometimes it's a cartoon-like spin on Taxi Driver.
So surreal, so enjoyable,so great. Also the empty streets at night reminded me of Eyes wide shut and Escape fro New York
