This is an emotionally supercharged film. It is a melodramatic tearjerker of the highest order. Bier’s direction is assured, as always, and Mikkelsen gives an outstanding performance. The story lags a little bit because there is SO MUCH drama here, it gets overwhelming. There is just a lot of stuff going on here. That said, it is mostly very good. I enjoyed myself immensely, and there are some parts of this that are so emotionally raw that you can’t help but react to it. Very good film.
