Some of the best filmed dialogue ever. Bette Davis hoists this movie on her shoulders and proceeds to do standing push-ups for 2+ hours. She is a BEAST.

There is something to be said for a film that has ever-shifting character equations. Love!

One of the greatest of all movies. I couldn't help but draw comparisons between Bette Davis and Kate Winslett. There is something about both of their acting styles that is strikingly similar...

I agree, this is truly a great film. A stellar cast, and the dramatic tension between the two lead actresses is pitch perfect.

Lasts too long and gets predictable, yet the last thirty minutes save it. Especially the last scene: so powerful.

Eve Harrington...my favorite character and one of the greatest villains in cinema history. Along with Twilight, this film will be regarded as one of the greatest chick-flick ever.

When Anne Baxter (Eve) tells her false story of how she ended up there, it really amazes me. Only her talking, but still so interesting.

Makiewicz pens one of the finest screenplays to ever come out of Hollywood and the ensemble performances elevate the material to an even higher level. A film that more than lives up to its reputation.

This is the only movie I know which epitomized a good movie. Everthing is smooth and natural. It was not the costumes, the sets, the soundtrack or the pretty line up of casts. It's all abut the acting, the sensational performances by Anne Baxter who portrayed the multi-faced ambitious young girl and of course the legendary Miss Davis who was born to play the part of Margo Channing. This movie is beyond outstanding.

JONUK WHO: "Possibly the most eloquently written Hollywood film ever made! " The most amazing film I have ever seen. EVERY scene is an expression of perfection,I don't even mention the brightness of the dialogues (Mankiewicz 's speciality) and the finesse when it comes to this script...and to me it's the best Marylin Monroe role ever! BETTE DAVIS + Anne Baxter : no comment. My ultimate movie.

Margo is totally Tallulah Bankhead, of that there is no doubt. Bette knew it and Tallulah sure as hell knew it. But what a great film! The writing is pure genius and Bette is awesome. :)

I fell in love with this film. Bitchy stage divas, backstabbing, betrayal, witty quips. I loved it. All of the performances were fabulous. Some people think that the film is dated. I think of it as a portrait of what life was for a famous Broadway actress in the late 40s. Anne Baxter, Bette Davis, Celeste Holm, Thelma Ritter George Sander were great.

Flawlessly executed drama, fabulous screenplay and acting. a picture formed by pure cynicism and tons of charm. Bette Davis and Anne Baxter are the theater's ultimate bitches. nice cameo by the beautiful Marilyn Monroe.
