The original film is flawed, but not horrible. The idea of remaking “All the King’s Men” is not a bad idea, as this cautionary tale about the dangers of socialism and corruption on both sides needs to be told. The original’s biggest flaw was building the story around the reporter character and casting such a weak kneed, bubble gum actor to play the part.
This film just blows.
Penn is trying too hard, and the rest of the cast is horrible.
The film seems to have removed scenes from the original while still 20 minutes longer because everybody talks so slow in the movie.
Jude Law should be banned from acting.
Gandolfini is insufferable.
The direction is garbage.
This film, and the original can serve as a lesson to filmmakers as the things not to do while making a movie.
If your actors can’t pull off convincing accents, just let them speak in there natural voices.
