Outlaw Monte Jarrad (Dan Duryea) robs a stagecoach and flees the scene of the crime. Clueless cowboy Melody Jones (Gary Cooper) rides into town and, despite having no skill with a gun, is mistaken for the robber just because he has the same initials. Only Jarrad’s childhood sweetheart, Cherry de Longpre (Loretta Young), can save the day. Cooper puts an amusing spin on his Western-hero persona in this tongue-in-cheek gem.
