Altiplano is a truly amazing, poetic and surreal work of art without any shadow of pretentiousness, but filled with beauty and simplicity. The narrative which involves a Belgian couple, briefly Iraq and a small town in South America is mostly the pretext for a surreal contemplation of death and loss which generates a highly aesthetic visual and atmospheric display. The cinematography, casting and acting and soundtrack combined in a such a manner that there is no gap in the cinematic flow creates an unique atmosphere. It is a must see for any art-house cinema lover and a fresh display of highly creative and aesthetic cinema which I find extremely relevant.
