Acclaimed director Prakash Jha tackles northern India’s flourishing kidnapping business and a variety of other social ills in this hard-hitting Bollywood drama. Jha deftly explores police corruption, political graft and moral impotency through the prism of Ajay Shastri (Ajay Devgan), who’s drawn into the venal world he hoped to stamp out when his dream of becoming a cop is shattered. The supporting cast includes Mohan Agashe and Nana Patekar.
