Synopsis

Based on the true story of the ill-fated 13th Apollo mission bound for the moon. Astronauts Lovell, Haise and Swigert were scheduled to fly Apollo 14, but are moved up to 13. It’s 1970, and America have already achieved their lunar landing goal, so there’s little interest in this “routine” flight.. until that is, things go very wrong, and prospects of a safe return fade. —IMDb

Original

Ron Howard

Professionally, Ron Howard has come a long way from the tousle-haired, barefoot sheriff’s son who trod the byways of idyllic Mayberry to reside in the heady company of Hollywood’s most elite directors. It's not a deep or challenging film in any way, but it's a very good piece of Hollywood entertainment.

Despite a stellar cast (no pun intended) the film fell short off my expectations. Of course, you cannot except the filmmakers to alter and twist the “story” too much as it is based on real events after…  read review

Apollo 13

By Daniel A. DiCenso on January 5, 2012

Apollo 13 is a typical Ron Howard salute to bravery, yet somehow transcends everything that means. Sure, it’s manipulative and cloying with all of the old glory-ness that Howard is fond of, but this…  read review

Apollo 13

My father was literally a rocket scientist who helped build the first Apollo space shuttle. So anything to do with NASA interests me. What I love about this film (apart from my fascination with 60’s…  read review
