If you’re after the real story of painter Artemisia Gentileschi, you’ll be disappointed as the film is full of historical inaccuracies. In the film, Artemisia’s entire character and all that she stands for had been reduced to a standard Hollywood female character. The director portrays Artemisia as someone in love with her “rapist”. I encourage the people who saw the film to do some research about Artemisia.
