When in 1941 Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, their troops quickly besieged Leningrad. Foreign journalists are evacuated but one of them, Kate Davies, is presumed dead and misses the plane. absolutely horrible. bombs that were inscribed with "sugar" to attract people gnawed by hunger? how "inventive" that can be. as if suffering was not enough, you got to make it batman for people to empathize..and russian filmmakers seem to have a strange affection for mira sorvino..!!??
